Current Topics: 2:00 PM –2:30 PM

This class takes a look at the Jewish holidays, special Torah readings, and the mitzvos and events most relevant to the approaching time of year.  Insights are drawn from both the revealed and mystical dimensions of Torah teachings.

Gemora: (Levels I & II): 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Level I: An in-depth examination of the teachings of our Sages in the Mishna and the Gemora, the two elements that constitute what are known as the Talmud.  The class is based on a selected series of teachings known as a tractate.  The tractate is studied together with the insights of the classical Torah commentaries. Focus is placed on acquiring the “language” of the Gemora. Included in this time is the traditional “Chavrusa learning system”.

Level II: An extension of the first level with emphasis placed on understanding the development of Talmudic ideas and logic.  The classical Torah commentaries are also studied at greater length.  The “Chavrusa learning system” is continued at this level as well.
