TORAH NAME:  HaTamim Michoel ben Avrohom Chazak! 

AGE: I was born in 1975

LINEAGE: I am at least 3 or 4 generations Ukrainian

GREW UP IN:  Kiev, Ukrain until I was 16 years old and then moved to Los Angeles, CA.

WENT TO SCHOOL AT:  Batchelor of Arts in Business Administration from USC.

MY INTERESTS/HOBBIES ARE: Weightlifting, Soccer, Computers, Tech toys, Reading.

HAVE BEEN FRUM SINCE: Yom Kippur 2002, Shomer Shabbos and then little by little took on more mitzvoth.

HAVE BEEN IN YTM SINCE: Passover 2004

THINGS I LOVE MOST ABOUT YTM:  The great teachers, friendly atmosphere, fellow students that I can relate to who have similar backgrounds, and of course the great food!

MY RESPONSIBILITIES AT YTM CONSISTS OF:  Keeping to the schedule of learning & weekly community outreach.

I GAUGE MY TORAH STUDY AT WHAT LEVEL: I am a beginner. I daven about 80% in Hebrew and little by little I am building language skills in learning Gemorra, Chumash, etc.

HOW DO I MAKE THE MOST OUT OF MY TIME:  I keep to the learning schedule and make an effort to get up early to exercise.

WHAT DO I EXPECT TO GET OUT OF YTM: To be able to read from the original (Hebrew & Aramaic) texts on my own. I also want to become knowledgeable, or at least familiar, with the Halachos necessary to live a proper Jewish lifestyle.

WHAT SURPRISED ME THE MOST:  The variety of students that attended the program from all different walks of life.

HOW AM I BETTER THAN BEFORE:  The practical knowledge of Judaism that I have gained has led me to greater confidence in what I am doing.
