Reuven Kushnir

1.07.04

TORAH NAME:  HaTamim  Reuven ben Alexander Chazak!

AGE: I was born in 1973

LINEAGE:  Ukraine Russia from mother’s side and Moscow Russia from father’s side

GREW UP IN:  Moscow

WENT TO SCHOOL AT:  Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology

HAVE BEEN FRUM SINCE: 1995. I was shomer mitzvos keeping Shabbos, Kashrus etc.

HAVE BEEN IN YTM SINCE: August 2001

THINGS I LOVE MOST ABOUT YTM: The Rabbis, the warm atmosphere, the food, and (certain) bochurim

MY RESPONSIBILITIES AT YTM CONSISTS OF: Keeping to the schedule, pitching in to help keep the dining room clean and helping to drive other students when they need a ride.

I GAUGE MY TORAH STUDY AT WHAT LEVEL: Intermediate beginner  can learn Gemora with Rashi sometimes, can learn most Maamarim and Sichos in Hebrew and I know the meaning of the words of Tefilla.

HOW DO I MAKE THE MOST OUT OF MY TIME: When I have a break I use it wisely to refresh my mind so that I can come back to learn strong within the regular learning hours.

WHAT DO I EXPECT TO GET OUT OF YTM: I want to be able to live a proper Jewish life. To be literate and stand on my own feet in the basics of Judaism and Jewish lifestyle.

WHAT SURPRISED ME THE MOST:  The curriculum of learning specifically the Chassidus.

HOW AM I BETTER THAN BEFORE:  I am more open minded and sensitive to everything around me because of the nature of the subjects that we learn in the Yeshiva.

A WORD TO Prospective students: The Yeshiva is the best place to be for a Jewish person and anyone who has had the chance to be in Yeshiva should consider himself fortunate. It’s worth dropping everything else to come to learn in Yeshiva even for a short time if not longer
